Therapeutic Modalities

At Life Matters Counseling Center we utilize an eclectic style, incorporating skills from life experience, education, work experience, collaboration and continued learning. Below are just a few.

DBT- Dialectical Behavior Therapy

DBT is a treatment modality used by clinicians to assist clients in developing healthy coping skills to manage symptoms related to many different mental health disorders and issues. It helps clients manage distress tolerance,  emotional well being, improve communication and decrease reactivity.

Brief Solution Focused Therapy

Solution Focused Brief Therapy is highly flexible and brief, typically lasting anywhere from 1 to 8 sessions, though it can be adapted to longer-term needs. The therapist will frequently assess your progress, celebrate small wins, and provide summaries with actionable suggestions for the time between sessions. It is commonly used to treat a wide array of mental health concerns, including depression, anxiety, and relationship struggles.  Title IV-E Prevention Services Clearinghouse

Psychoeducation

Psychoeducation is a therapeutic intervention that teaches individuals about their specific mental health conditions, symptoms, and treatment options. By explaining the "whys" of a diagnosis, it empowers clients to take an active role in their recovery, develop coping strategies, and make informed decisions about their care. Youtube -Carepatron
